Use a flat suction head attachment rather than a brush or motorised power head. Brushes and rotating tools can be too harsh and may damage the pile, especially on wool, viscose, or delicate natural fibre rugs.

If your rug has fringes, avoid vacuuming over them — this can cause fraying and tangling. Instead, gently lift them out of the way or clean them separately using a handheld attachment.

Tip: Vacuum both sides of your rug from time to time to remove dust and grit that can collect underneath.

2. Clean Spills & Spots Immediately
